Ohms?

If you take 2 8 ohm subs and run them together( twist the pos and neg from each speaker together) you will have a 4 ohm load, now if you bridge a 2 ch amp to one ch you will now have a 2 ohm load. This is what I did with my 8 ohm subs. Some amps arent rated 2 ohm bridged stable, but my old kenwwod has run this way for quite some time and it doesnt even get warm. Thats the easiest to get the most power to 8 ohm subs. Im not shure what amps are rated 2 ohm bridged stable though.

um no.

I should have guessed the guy at bb was wrong. The impeadence doesnt drop on the amp when you bridge it? Right? He told me that when you bridge an amp you raise its power output, which is right, but he said its because combining channels also lowers the resistance(ohms). So, then I currently have my amp at 4 ohm load bridged with 2 8 ohm subs wired together to the bridged outputs.? His advise to bridge the amp was correct as the subs hit 2x as hard since dooing this. Sorry for the wrong info, but I put it out there hoping someone would correct me if I was wrong.

usually the impeadence raises when you bridge an amp. ie. 2 ohm stereo would bridge to 4 ohm mono.
Actually its not raised at all. 2 ohm stereo is actually EQUAL to 4 ohm mono. It's the same load as far as what the amp sees.

Ok, so now you have to find an amp that puts out your rated power at 4 ohms bridged mono.
