is a watt just a wat? can an amp for example jl audio... produce more sound pressure just from equalizers and boosts, than say a sound stream or kicker or any other brand.... is a wat just a wat? or do other factors determin what 1000 wats sound like (ps: i do know that the rateing of 1000 wats on jl's and rockfords and some others are conservative and these amps are capable of much more than 1000 watts)

From your 3 retarded threads and not wanting to listen to anyone...why should anyone try to help you?

a watt is a unit of measurement... thats like asking is one inch always an inch, or can it sometimes be one foot? think before you post.
pleaze just read the freakin post people!!! my question is can a different amp make the same amout of power sound louder?!?!

mabe use a little bit of common sence and at least try to understand my question before u try and flame it.

thanx for ur input
Pat's response is spot-on, however.

Your original question, as asked, is more than a bit silly.

You inquire about one (1) watt then ramble on about 1kW amps that produce more than rated output. The one really has little to nothing to do with the other.

All things being equal a system running X amount of wattage RMS output using Y and Z brands equipment will sound very comparable to another system comprised of similar gear with a comparable level of install.

Can one system making X number of watts sound louder than another system also running X number of watts? Sure it can! As you'll see around this forum as well as many others on the interweb dedicated to car audio enthusiasts it's install dependent. If it isn't installed properly then it makes no difference how good the gear is. There was a thread on this very subject (great equipment + poor install = result that sounds like poo) earlier today.

Can a 400 watt system outperform a 2kW system? Absolutely it can if the person with the 2,000 watt system didn't implement their gear properly.

The reason you're getting hostile responses is due to the fact that your question is completely absurd. What are you actually trying to ask here?

i'm asking if all other factors aside... can a set amount of wattage be louder by useing other meothods of influenceing the signal itself so that 1000 watts of one amp can sound like 2000 from another purly because of circuitry, equalizers boosts ect.
