hi,

i was wondering if it was possible to run two subs that have a different ohm together....i have an l7 that is 2 ohm and one that is 4ohm... what ohm load does this produce ?

Don't mix subs with dissimilar voice coil configs...just don't do it.

ya i was just wondering because i sent an l7 to kicker for warranty work and they sent me a 2 ohm back instead of a 4ohm so i dont know what to do..

I wouldn't wire them together, but I think you could wire one to each channel of the same amp.

I think, but I'm not sure.

Technically nothing would self implode or catch on fire.

However, the subs would receive different amounts of power......which obviously is not a good thing.

If you received a recone back and they sent you the wrong/different impedance coils; I'd call Kicker (or your local dealer, if that's who you went through) and tell them that they sent you incorrect coil configuration.

what if you wired both up to a mono amp, it would show the amp a solid load and both the woofers would get the same amount of power right? idk

No, not a good idea. I would call Kicker and get them to send you the correct coil.

yeah, getting two amps is one solution, but honestly, i'd try to get the voice coils made right. if you can't get a good resolution from kicker, then this may be your best option.

He is correct.

Once the power from the amp reaches the bridge between the two subs, there will be an impeadance difference, draw it up as if it was a circuit and you will notice. But like someone said, nothing will go wrong, things just wont work out right.

kicker made a mistake, stuff happens. they are a great company and a quick phone call will resolve your dilemma immediatly.
