Is it a bigger strain on your electrical system if you run at a high amount of ohms (like 4) or is it a bigger strain if you run at a low amount of ohms (1-1.5)? Or does it matter?

Ohm's Law...

Generally, most amps produce less power at a higher load impedance (ideally, halving output power every time you double impedance). Less power = less current = less strain on your electrical system.

I say generally because there are exceptions, like the JL Slash series or the PG Tantrum & Xenon series.

so then it doesnt matter, all that matters is the amount of power?

^^ Correct. It's the power drawn by the amp that strains your electrical system.

Some amps are more efficient driving higher ohm loads, which means there could be an advantage to 4 ohms v.s. 1 ohm, but that's totally dependant on the amp design.
