ok im gonna be ordering the Hifonics brutus bx1500d but the specs are this:

1 x 500 watts rms into 4 ohms

1 x 1000 watts rms into 2 ohms

1 x 1500 watts rms into 1 ohms

im gonna be getting two 12" SE's and they are gonna be in a ported box.. all SE's are 4ohms? whats the differnce between 4 ohms and 2ohms? with two 12" i can only run them 2x500 watts rms into 4ohms correct? only way you can run any subs would be with only one sub that was 2 ohms with 1x1000 watts right? so what im asking... i can only run my subs on this amp with 4 ohms?

so what im asking is i can only run my two 12" SE's in 4ohms mode correct?

ok this ohms crap is confussing me im sorry for being a newbie,but... so if i have my 2 SE's in a ported box and i have 2 speakers wires coming from the box from each sub and one wire going into the amp with one + and - and the other speaker wire coming from the other sub going to the amp + and - then it would be 1 ohms? im confussed what your talkin about cause the brutus is 1x500 at 4ohms.. so if i just hook up both subs to the amp it should stay 4 ohms... and it would add 500watts to the 600rms a piece...

he gots you hooked up ^

ohms are resistance. 1 ohm is less resistance than 2. so you get more power flowing through them.

speakers are usually 4 or 8 ohms but have DVC. the DVC(Dual Voice Coils) allows you to wire the coils in series(resistance goes up) or parralel(resistance down) there is a formula for finding all that stuff out but That ^ up there is the wiring options you have with their ohm rating.

well then i guess mine would be 4ohms because the way i was planning on doing it was giving each sub seprate wires and going from each sub and going to the red and black medal on the box... then run wire from the box to amp so it would be 4ohms i guess... lol
