Ohm configuration.....Need Help!!!!

Okay when it comes to ohm configuration i am a total noob. i want do 8 alpine type r 12's. i don't know if i'm supposed to do dual 2 ohm or 4 ohm or if i should do 9 12's and do 3 amps to be more cost efficient. So should i go 9 subs to do 3 12's to every 1 amp or 8 subs with 1 amp to every 2 subs. and what size amp with each setup what i mean by that is what rms watt rating and what ohm speakers to the 1 amp to every 3 or 1 amp to every 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks im preety sure its confusing in some way if there's any info i left out that might be needed to be configured please let me know.

Well with 8 Type r's your will need roughly 7-8k watts to power properly.you can run 2 amps- 4 subs on each, with each sub being dual 2 ohm vc giving you a one ohm load at the amp.

just another quick question do the amp have to be a mono because i was looking a a couple amps and they have 2 channels and the channes are 1 ohm per channel. i don't know if im explaining it right but if they were briged it says its a 2 ohm.

Look into class d amps..most will be mono blocks

once again thank you sir as you can see i have a lot i don't know yet but thank you again.

And ur sure these can take that much they say only 500 rms per sub.
