i dont know what just hit me...i just watched a few videos of people with SPL setups... and well...im losing my marbles.

Right now, as you can tell from my sig, i was going for the SQ side of things, and i think im over it, it sounds pretty good, not great, doesnt get real loud, doesn't wow people, its clear etc etc but coming from two 18"s this *****....so heres my question.

If i were to sell, CD7200MKII, my mids, tweets, 5 channel, and 2ID8s....and go to passive setup, and actually put some thump in the trunk of the Goat, what do you think i should go for?

I think the MKII is way too much processing for a passive setup, only thing is right now i have 7" baffles in the doors for mids and would like to keep them, car is wired with 4 gauge, and i think the biggest box i could fit in the trunk would be maybe 4 or 5 cubes sealed maybe 3 ported or so.

Nightshade 15" in 3.25 tuned to high 30's run off a SAZ 3000d keepyou mids and highs run them off a SAX125.2 passive if you want passive, of use a sax100.4 and go active usin the amp xover. sell the 7000 and nINE ant IDs to help pay for the DBZZZZZZZZZZZZ

eh... quitters never win.

you have to question those that aren't wow'd by your setup. if they know nothing of sq or imaging or whatnot, then who cares...

of course any dummy can be impressed by bass.. but if you can impress using 20hz-20khz, then you got something going.

i'd suggest just running those tweets of the HU, active still, and get some better mids and bridge them from your amp. A single 12" sealed or ported should do well... depending how loud you'd like to get.

you should hear what i have in right now.. i get wows all the time from the clarity and midbass.. its a pretty cheap priced passive system

I have the ID Chameleon Component set, paired up with the JL 300/2 and its awesome, the mids really give you that punch you need to impress yourself and others. My doors are completely sealed off so i'm sure that helps. Even free air these mids impress me..

The processing on the 780MP is SO easy and effective, nothing like a 16 band equalizer built into your HU. I can disconnect the negative and re-tune my system in 5 minutes.

I think you should get a IDQ15 v2 or a JL W6 V1 15" in a sealed box for the sub-stage. I'm heading that way as soon as i get the money.

x2

its a dayton audio 175....lemme see if i can get the specs...

and i dk about a 3000D, 4 gauge might not cut it...and i dont want to re-wire the car

If I were you I would purchase a fuel tank from a Monaro, don't cost much in Aussie.

Have it shipped to the states.

Install into your GTO.

Run any sub setup you want while keeping the front stage sounding good.
