I'm enjoying my SE's, I think they're a great bargain sub. I just hate the overly sized frame on some of the RE subs like the MX, XXX, and it looks like the new SE/X's have them too. They don't require a standard cut out so it makes it really difficult to swap different subs in and out.

I will say this....not too long ago a buddy had the older model SR 15" clamped on 1,000 watts..that sub is rated at 300 watt rms.....i bought the newer SRx 15" for the wife..... funny how the *** can sound better than the SE, maybe the new basket adds some special SQs to it, the only difference in the 2 is the basket and motor cover, the T/S params are exactly the same and the motor/coil structure has not changed one bit..

stop trying to make them sound better than they are.

but yes they will do more than rated, they have a 3" coil so thermally can take a tad over 600.

my view on it, not a fan of the new RE, and its a shame they cant make a change to a product rather than it's appearance.
