i honestly dislike helmets. I don't care much for seat belts either, I don't think either should be required by law.
Even if my head is fine after a crash and my leg is screwed up, if I wasn't wearing a helmet the other insurance company would have a good argument for dismissing the charge because I didn't "mitigate my damage" by wearing a helmet or using a seatbelt. I've been screwed by enough insurance companies that I guess I just want to afford them no weaseling out of things. Also my grandpa died when my mom was little because he wasn't wearing a helmet, it goes from zero importance to lifesaving real fast.

December 28th 2001. A full face motorcycle helmet saved my life when a car full of teenagers blew a stop sign at 10:30 at night. I T-Boned them right behind their front tire on the drivers side. Ambulance... Helicopter... 6 days in the ICU... Surgery. Sadly my motorcycle did not survive.

I don't have any horror stories that I've witnessed on a bike, but I remember going to an underwater cave as a boyscout that you'd have to go prone under water and I remember I must have been saved by that helmet about 70 times in the 5 mile trail. I'd just be walking and BAM... Well at least it wasn't my skull.

We did lol, but it's hard to judge which surface is the more dangerous one, ceiling or floor. A few times I was looking at the ceiling a little too close and about busted my *** when the ground under water suddenly went down 3ft.
Caves always freaked me out... that and tunnels. We had a creek near our house growing up and we would play in it. At one end were concrete tunnels under the road that the creek went through. So dark and freaky. They were about a half mile long. One about 10 feet in diameter the other was 5 feet.

Wow half mile? I'm sure it would be creepy at night or if it was filling with water as you walked. That's kinda why our cave trip was so rough, it's usually not so bad but it was raining. They said it's fine to go through during rain but it goes from like a 4/10 to a 8/10 difficulty w/e that means.

Yeah, the big tunnel had water in it, the little guy was normally dry. We skipped school there, had some ladies there, smoked there. We had a good rain storm that flooded the creek and we took some door sized pieces of styrofoam and body surfed down the "white water" all the way through the larger tunnel all the way to the golf coarse.

This is not what it used to look like. They did this after a car went over the edge and got trapped during a hurricane. There was no guardrail. The lady died. But the large tunnel used to be two tunnels and the one on the right was inside the smaller tunnel. They tore up the tunnels but it used to follow the arrow.
