When I wrote that yesterday I felt the play calling was very conservative ... with TN probably taking away the deep pass on nearly every play (I didn't go to the game, couldn't see the whole field) ... and Meyer has now confirmed that he called it conservative. So, yes, the Gators played well for the run-first and short-passes-only play calling. It just looks bad to viewers used to seeing a team chunk it down field at will. If the D takes that away, go with what works ... and they did. And it very nearly ended up a blow-out, even with those low-risk, low-reward plays.Just as the Gators were just a few plays away from blowing the Vols out, the Vols were just a few plays away from upsetting the Gators. You're the first Gator fan I've seen that thought they played well that game. Thinking that they were just not trying because they were playing an inferior team is just idiotic.
