well FYI that 3 points took them from 21st in the league defensively down to 11th, in a league with 30 teams and statistically that is considered beyond marginal, it normally takes another season for teams to make such a leap.
the point of posting the stats was to backup the claims that this trade actually did help the team, they do have a better chance at beating teams now, so there is no excuse for the continued downward spiral, no excuse other than Mike Brown and Lebron James, it's their job to determine what needs to change in order to help that team succeed...
Ben isnt the same player, no refuting that, but he is the reason that the blocked shots are up and that the point in the paint have decreased so much so he does still maintain somewhat of a presence...enough to change shots up here and there at least...Chicago was beyond stupid to sign him to such a large deal, and IMO Cleveland should have never of brought him in.
From the get go I said it was a bad move. However looking at the numbers, they are technically doing better than I thought they would with these guys, so the lack of W's is puzzling...the funny part of all of this, is Larry Hughes. the majority of the fan base hated the guy, a lot of analysts talked negative about him and his ability, however it was he all along that took that pressure off of James. It gave the opposing team someone else to contend with as Hughes is a big guard, that is strong and can shoot the ball very well when he's on.
ironic...
