Would probably do fairly well for the money. I'd worry a bit about those subs though, OEM parts to repair those dried up a couple years ago AFAIK. Nice sounding though and I suppose on 1000W they'd last another 5 years anyway.
Yeah... the subs might not be fresh... that's for sure... But if the amp is good... Patrick/Robot IS in town and I'll bet he has all kinds of parts for these HX2's... I wonder what HE can turn these subs into?.. LOL!

Springfield Speaker Repair used to have a stockpile of OEM Rockford parts (Shocker Mike used to have a bunch too), IDK if Patrick ever had any.

Not much you can do with those that'll be better than OEM. The pole piece is a bit wide for most 3" coils and you'll want a short wind width. Suspension was very soft (and needs to be because it's not a particularly strong motor), AND they actually sound really good and get reasonably loud on not too much power. I doubt you could rebuild it better than stock, it's just not that kind of woofer.

MA made a couple amps that were popular in USACi (mostly because of their stupid low 4 ohm ratings) so Cliff may be decent. Mind you, they're one of those companies that was very hit or miss so while one or two amps may be OK, I'm sure they slapped their brand name on some things that were really awful. The fact that it's still functioning is a decent sign though and there's still a lot of those 4K's around this area putting in 160+ work.
