***Official 2009-10 NFL THREAD***

Dude please get a clue... Don't say Tebow and Lebron freaking James in the same paragraph. Tim Tebow has bust written all over him. So what that he was a "monster" in college. This guy was an even bigger monster in college with more wins and more championships and have you heard from him since?
Dude I could care less whether Tim does great or not in the NFL I'm just saying that hating on someone just because they're good is dumb. He gets so much hate for no reason. All he did was play football well, what's wrong with that?

Tim Tebow is "hated on" because his mechanics are terrible, his delivery is slow as shit and he has a skillset that isn't likely to transition well into pro football.

Denver Broncos fans have every right to be pissed about Tim Tebow.

Same things were said about Vince Young and he's turning out pretty good. You draft players based on potential, not expect them to come out and dominate the nfl. Of course he has to work on transitioning into the NFL. College and the NFL are two totally different levels.

i would argue a few things to this point...

1. VY was a more skilled passer coming out than Tebow is

2. Urban Meyers offense is not NFL freindly at all. Not to say that Texas runs a proset, but it is more conducive to transferring to the NFL than Floridas is.

3. Tebow had much better skill players to throw to than VY did...Harvin, Murphy have already shown to be solid NFL players. Hernandez and Cooper will likely get drafted today...the best skill player Tex has was Limas Sweed, who rarely see's the field for Pittsburgh

Vince Young? You're going to base your argument on Vince Young? Damn, I guess.

You draft for potential when you have the luxury to do so. You don't bet the farm on potential. Tebow is a project player that may not see the field unless McDaniels is running a gimmick offense.

Thank you for drafting yet another FS that can't actually play FS, Mr. Angelo. You truly are making me love you more every year.

I hate to say it, but I'm hoping for a 4-12 season. If the Bears sweep Detroit & split with the Queens and Puke, I'll consider it a great season.

I agree with this. But I don't think Tebow is like a total and complete gamble. Do I think the Broncos needed him? No. But I don't think he deserves all the hate he gets.

It's not even a matter of whether the Broncos needed Tebow or not. It honestly isn't even about Tebow when you get right down to it. It's all about Josh McDaniels' stupidity or arrogance (I still can't figure out which it is, but I'm starting to lean heavily towards stupidity). Follow along, man.

- McDaniels replaces a Hall Of Fame level coach and immediately tries to shop his franchise QB in favor of Matt fucking Cassel. A man who hadn't been a starting QB with any regularity since he played high school ball.

- After a shit storm of contraversy, Jay Cutler is shipped to Chicago for a butt load of draft picks and a serviceable starting QB.

- McDaniels, now with Kyle Orton under his wing, brings in Phil Simm's gimpy kid that has sucked *** everywhere he's played.

- McDaniels trades a 2010 1st rounder to move into the 2009 2nd to make a total reach for a player that has yet to pan out. He then picks Orton as his staring QB, without so much as giving Simms a shot at the job, and the Broncos go on to stun the world for about 2 months once the regular season begins.

- After stumbling to a terrible finish in the 2009 season, McDaniels brings in Brady Quinn and ships out Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffer.

- McDaniels then trades down in the 2010 draft to acquire a ton of mid round picks.

- McDaniels passes on the top rated WR only to draft a "good character" guy instead.

- McDaniels then trades approximately 77 draft picks, 2 human souls and his first born daughter's virginity to acquire yet another project QB that's a "good character" guy.

At this point, the Broncos have Kyle Orton, Brandstater (sp), Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow on their roster. Only one of those men is a starting caliber QB right now, and that guy is Kyle. Why draft another project QB when you already have two of them on your roster? If the guy would've kept the offense he inherited, Denver may have blown through the regular season destroying every team in their wake. Hell, they did it for 8 weeks with Kyle, and Orton is no Jay Cutler. Like it or not, this is a fact.

McDaniels has shot himself in the foot at every turn. If I was a Denver Broncos fan, I'd be irrate. I wouldn't spend a dime on merchandise, go to any games or even look at the team's website until the moron running the ship is shown the door...

^^Point taken. But in all honesty the Broncos weren't likely going to win a superbowl any time soon so I guess that's why I don't see why everyone is so pissed about it. Maybe if I was a Denver fan then things would be different.
