Off to car heaven: Saturn, Saab, Hummer

Rebadged. Why don't you consider a chevy truck a rebadge? GMC is more than just consumer trucks it is there truck division for fleet, commercial, etc.
Finally someone mentioned it.

Still driving my 15 year old Saturn with 175k on original drivetrain.

WTF? That makes no sense at all. If the GMC's are better and have more options, keep them and dump Chevy.

You're a genius I see. You said the opposite, but mine makes no sense? Regardless, I agree either way. My point was to get rid of one of them. You don't need 2 of the same trucks out there.

You apparently are reading over the fact that GMC is GM's commercial truck division and a money maker for them.

you must beat the living piss out of that poor truck if you're on your third Chevy motor and you've only racked up 300k. I've seen many Chevy trucks with 300-400k on one motor without having to do any major repairs.
maybe he did it for the performance? different motors, different power? i know a good from of mine that has had his 71 since it was new, well over a million miles, and he is on his 3rd motor, it actually just got rebuilt and bored out. before that he had the original and then put a larger motor in.

**** pontiac, i refuse to believe saabs will no longer be manufactured

and saabs are sexy as hell, i didnt like them at first but the old 98-2002 model 93 is a hell of a lot better than your ****ing caravan or whatever that POS dodge you drive is

They might not be useful in San Diego, but they are useful around here. So no, half the population is not retarded because of SUV's.
Im in a family of seven. my father, three brothers and I are 6'1", 6'1", 6'3", 6'4", and 6'5". My mother is 5'8". Sister is 5'10". A mini van just wouldnt cut it. Our suburban was a great investment

Looks like an Escort to me.

I think this will help... you obviously aren't selling enough cars right now to keep those open so instead of waiting til you run out of money and shut everything down shut down the ones with the least sales or the most cost.. then if business business grows again spread out again..

The government won't allow them to spread out anytime soon. They need to consolidate and stream line. I was looking at their crossover lineup, and the Traverse, Enclave, Outlook, and Acadia are both on the same Lambda platform and use the same drivetrain. Essentially they have 4 different crossovers with slightly different styling.

They aren't really nixing Pontiac, they are downsizing it to more of a "specialty" brand
And Saturn isn't totally going away either. The badge may be disappearing, but the products will be combined with the Buick brand, which will move on to share designs with Opel.
Saturn hasn't made original cars since they stopped making the L-series. Ever since then they have just been re-badged opel's. So seeing that go really isn't a surprise. Now they are just gonna put buick badges on them and tarnish that name by making cars that in the past wouldn't meet buick's standards.

Finally someone mentioned it.

My '91 sl1 had 176K on it when I got rid of it. The ECM stopped working and I decided not to fix fit; but it still ran and drove. I should break 100k within a month on my new(er) saturn. Still lots of life left.

The Saturn Outlook is the exact same thing as the Buick Enclave //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
