Obsidian subwoofers.

I built a t-line for a customer with two OA 10s running on a 1400.1 and they took the amp fine but I'm not sure I would run one of those subs on a 1400 without backing down on the amp. As for the Strato v2, they will take 1200-1500 watts with no problem but again, I'd back off on the 1400.1 if I was only running one.
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Just took a look on FI website at the Bl 18 that seems to be maybe something to get. Any feedback on those with your experance ?

Why not go back to DD? Most that go with something else end up going back.
I have 7 DD subs at my house. I could send one out to be made to a 18 I guess. But I dunno was just thinking about running something different.

Every time I look at new subs because I like to change up a lot I always end up not. It's hard to top them
Dude I agree with you. My first system with those was 2x15 9515 D series. Loved them.

Than send one in. It will come back new and you will never have to wait more than a few weeks to get them
Oh I know. I just got a sub back from them last month. Start to finish about 3 weeks.

I've been messing around with the obsidians ever since they came out and they are an awesome sub. Ported, 4th order, they do well in both. They will handle power just fine. Ran one off an saz-1000 and didn't run into any problems with overheating (of course it got warm after a few minutes, but it wasn't stinking up the whole car). My bud has 4 OA-12's in a ported box running off an saz-3k and it gets quite loud. I've heard plenty of loud setups but his still manages to choke me up on some songs.

They're a fun sub to play with, especially if you have the space to fit a handful of them.

Ok so I have changed my setup I want to run. Thinking just 1 18 now. I have the room that's not a issue. Been looking at these subs, I see the rms is 600. Is this true or will they take more safely ? Looking for info on some good 18's. I've ran DD before but looking at what else is out there and sounds good. I still have my old box I built years ago just little over 7 cubes net. With 60 sqin of port tuned at 32. Don't know if I could still use that with a new sub, if I have to remake another box that's fine. Sub is going to be powered by a CT 1400.1
Don't see many subs performing well in that box...

They are cookie cutter subs but a proven design. Rms is a pointless spec to a point. You are not going to run a clamped 600 watt sine wave for 12 hours straight.
Could you elaborate more on your "cookie cutter subs" comment? What information do you possess that validates your claim? Our motors were developed using Finite Element Analysis and were custom tooled to speciciation. How is that "cookie cutter"? We also have a fairly unique basket and soft part platform on our v3 subwoofers. Any/all information about the "cookie cutter" comment will be appreciated.
