OA12 + ASPM1500 @ 1 ohm?

Is that a smart idea to tune a OA12 D2 to like 30hz and feed it a 1 ohm ASPM1500 with the gain down? Push like 900 watts to it?

I'm trying to accentuate the low lows, and moar watts is good!

Is this a smart idea?

Should I get a better power handling 12, or just have the gains really low?

as long as you set it cleanly it should be fine. they are well built drivers and should handle just fine on 900 clean watt.

If you have not bought the sub, i would suggest get a higher rms subs so you can do full tilt without any worries

I will be doing close to full tilt most of the time....

After box rise and your electrical not 14.4 all the time, it wouldn't even see that full 1500 anyways.

You do not need more power to get down low. The enclosure will make that difference. That amp won't do 1500 anyway though and on a limited electrical you will be doing good to see 700-800 before you hit clipping.

If you want "power" don't buy that line of AP amps, they do have a Korean line though.

It does not only rise. It can and will indeed drop as well.

Try using an enclosure on the smaller side to handle all that power, my buddy runs a SA-15 @ 2 ohms on a apsm-1500 and the sub sounds a bit stressed on full tilt.

Gain is set with DMM and DD1, but could also be the APSM-1500 does not like the lows.

I would give it a good 700~800 watts and nothing more, just in case.
