CNN said it was off of Broadway. The building was being worked on. I'm not sure if they were renovating it or what. All I saw was a brief Top Story segment on it.
They talked to a witness that was walking down the street with others. He mentioned his cell phone rang so he walked faster to get away from the noise of the other people. Well, ironically once he did that, the building collapsed! Unfortunately, there were several people behind him that get trapped under the debris. One was a woman and her 3-month old baby. The baby wasn't crying and looked blue. The parametics said it isn't a good sign when something happens like this and a baby isn't crying.
One thing that was good was that the guy said once this happened, all the people along the streets came over to help everyone out of the mess.
It's just kinda sad that something terrible has to happen to bring folks together. I pray to God that we can unite without having to face horrific dilemas.
