So this was my 04 Dodge Durango.

Original system consisted of Kenwood XXV01 head unit, Kenwood KAC-x401m, Kenwood KAC-x501f, Morel Elate tweets and 5inch components in dash, Morel Elate 9inch midbass in doors, TC Sounds TC3000 15 in 2 cubes sealed.

Pics of original false-floor amp rack and sub enclosure. Molded in fiberglass out of the well left by removing the stow-away 3rd row seat. :

At one point I went on a little 'adventure weekend' with a group of friends. that trip consisted of a 4 day camping trip involving white-water rafting, skydiving, and climbing Maine's tallest peak(Mt Katahdin).

I'm not really one for sleeping on the ground in a tent...plus my snoring would've kept everyone awake...

...so I decided to build another false-floor, one that covers a new sub mounted magnet in, and was flush with the rear seats while folded down...It had to be sonically transparent, fully functional for storage, had to look 'factory'.

So step one was to remove the TC3000 and replace it with an Eclipse SW8200 and new baffle.

With the new sub and baffle complete I got to work on the raised-up false-floor.

I started with the framework, added top boards, cut a hole for the sub to radiate through and flush-mounted a grill.

Next I had to add some carpet to the newly created floor boards.

New floor in place and looking nice and flush!

Add an air-mattress, a couple blankets and some pillows...and the Durango is now a 'Shaggin-Wagon'.

Though I didn't do any shaggin in it, it was **** comfortable to sleep in.

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
