so will these perform well in sealed enclosures with only 38 watts? also thinking about a set of ology components. gotta a chance to trade my sub for them.
I've never listened to the Ology component sets. I know the drivers he uses, the Dayton Reference series, are excellent speakers. But the sound of the set comes down to the design of the passive.
my search on them came up with someone comparing them to sony's and a lot of bickering //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif i'll try to dig a little deeper
Have you looked at the PG elite 6's? They will take 300W, maybe not a 50 test tone though.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Morels' and from the PG direct store with manufactures waranty. They also have some sets with the xover.
with the seas i'm just not sure if 38 watts per mid will be enough to keep up with my subs. i was thinking of going active, which would be 75 watts per driver or bridging the amp to a set of components which would be 300 watts rms x2
also couldn't i bridge the 2 mids to the rear channels and tweeters to the front? then if i fade forward it'll be to the tweets and backwards to the mids? so then the 2 8 ohm drivers will present a 4 ohm load. is this silly or no?
decided to go with ology comps. i'll let you guys know how they sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
