so the only room I have to mount my memphis amps in my hatchback eclipse is on top of the memphis subs....the only rattle I have is coming from one of the amps...so I put a thin carpet layer right underneath the mounting brackets....it sounds a billion times better now just that left amp still rattles at full volume (dont tell me to turn it down either{im even being conservative with my gains}) I put my arm and weight on it and it shuts the eff up and sounds like it should.... the layers I put down is like 1/8" x 1/2" and the length of the rail 7".

my questions now are...

is this for one safe to be makin my amps shake like this? (My rearview has a mind of its own if that gives you an idea of how hard we're talkin)

and two.... should I maybe get some of that 1/2" foam and create like a floating cusion maybe cause this cut carpet/spacer thing didnt full on work but I NEED something to cause I have no other choice other then this configuration...

any Ideas?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Definitely not good to be shaking them like that, maybe try some sort of rubber grommets or something to help deaden the vibrations.
+1...

How bad do you need that config? No other place???

Could you mount them to your hatch? Or you could create a false floor and have your amps chill with some plexi over it..

the box is a prefab memphis and as for bracing it down I really cant do anything other then screwing in an eyelet in the bottom of the box and bolting it through the floor (Ive been thinking about this already) I think a foam barrier at least a half inch squashed down on the mounting brackets with a few pieces running in the middle perpendicular (sp?) dont you think?... as I said with the barrier I got, it now it sounds pretty good....just not perfect....and I dont wanna smoke these amps so...

good Idea with the false floor but I need a back seat still and as for the hatch thing I'd have to be a tweeker to figure that ish out!! lol

whats THAT about? cummon 22 milion posts guy..... helpa brotha!!
Because when you were told to brace the box better it did not mean bolt it to the floor.... it means add some bracing inside the box to keep it from flexing not only will it save your amps it will sound better too...

thats mostly to keep the fools from the north side of the tracks jackin it....

If these new Memphis amplifiers are built anywhere near the level of the ones I used in 2007, I predict they won't last long being vibrated like that. I had nothing but issues with mine due to the fact that the majority of the circuit board was supported by the FETS. The vibrations caused the legs to de-solder and that was all she wrote for the amplifier until it went in for repair. This happened THREE times before the amplifier was finally destroyed in a car accident.

Luckily, I was lazy and actually purchased authorized AND paid for a professional installation. As a result, the warranty issues went smoothly.
