hey sorry for all the questions again but you guys know your stuff! im going for an alpine mrp-m500 with an alpine type-r 12" to and alpine mrp-m1000 or bigger amp and a type-x 12".

I have this wiring kit:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211PSK08B/StreetWires-Power-Station-PSK08B.html?tp=635

im worried that all of the power i will be needing for the new amp and sub will fry this kit, am gonna be alright or should i get a bigger one? recommendations?

and does anyone know any other amps that run well with the type-x? im looking for bump here but i dont want the sub blowing seeing how it is close to $300.

Thanks guys,

Nick.

i would use what the amp recommends...which is probably 4 gauge but i would search online for the manul (or actually the mrp-m500 manual may hve the mrp-1000 in it as well if i remember correctly)

If you use a smaller wire (higher gauge) than what is reccommended you could ruin your amp because the wires wont allow for enough current to flow than is necessary. (this is what a car audio installer told me at least)

i also have a type-r with an mrp-m500 amp

you are going to put in a type x and a type r... dont mix subs dude

type x on a mrp 1000 or pdx 1000 is what you want, sell the other two and put that money towards the x and pdx

You won't be able to run a 1K watt amp off 8 awg wire.

I don't know the real specs of the MRP-M1000, but the 8awg won't be able to support it. Upgrade to either 4 awg or 2 awg.

Also, note, the Type X won't be as loud as the Type R as per what people have told me. But, again, I've heard the X has great sound quality.

hey i am in chicago, i can help you with the install, depending on car, i charge very cheap!!!

A real G charges food + beer.

I did a full install the other day for a Bacon Cheese Burger.

IT WAS DAMN GOOD, TOO!

Help me understand: you want to have the type-x in your car running off the 500 AND the 1000? Or running 2 seperate subs/2 seperate amps?
I think he has the type r now with the 500 watt amp. then he wants to change the sub to a type x and use a 1000 watt amp. also was curious if he can run both amps to one type x.

Asfar as the amp, I would get a PDX. They give you the same rms watts at any ohm load you set it on where as the other one, you will not do 1k watts on a 4ohm load, you would have to do 2 ohms probably. I have 2 type x and 2 pdx 1000.1 and it gets loud enough for me and sound good too..
