Not very loud then alot of distortion

Ok car is a 97 grand prix. alt rewound to 180 amp. interstate 1000ca batt in the trunk. System is 2 12 inch type r 12's in a chambered t-line built by stratusrt01. amp is a sundown saz-1500d. subs are wired to 2 ohm each verified by a dmm showing 2.3 ohm per sub. H/U is a pioneer p4900ib with 4v pre outs. with all bass settings on the eq set to zero i start raising the gain, i get to half gain and output is decent but not loud. if i go any higher i get alot of audible distortion through the subs like a LPF set really high but i have the LPF just barely turned up. I put it this way my single IDmax 12 in 2.7 cubes tuned to 34hz running at 2 ohm on the amp is louder than the pair of type-r's. Not sure whats going on here.

explain how u have the subs wired

Jumper is +to+ - to - on both subs which on my dmm verifies 2.3 ohm per sub. wired to the amp shows 1.3 ohm.

so u have the subs wired together in parralell and then out to the amp and ur seeing low output

havent tried, the type r's are new. i can get the LPF up at around 80hz and higher notes are loud but anything lower say like burn rubber by too short i get alot of distortion.

ok i just clamped the amp and got 28.5 amps draw and voltage of 12.04 which gives me 343.14 watts!

yeah but that much impedence rise! that shouldnt be right.
