Not sure what subs to get.. SQ setup in a jetta

I have a friend who is a professional audio installer coming to my house in about 2 weeks and I need to order some stuff so that he can build me a box and do my install as soon as he gets here.

I drive a 2003 Jetta, and I'm not exactly sure what to get but I would love to have it hit a large range of beats, but still able to be loud.

I used to own a JL 1000/1 Amplifier paired with 2x JL 12w6v2's but had to sell those due to lack of money and bills needing to be paid.

I want to get back into the market, and I have been looking into used subs on here.. I'm just not sure what to get.

I have been considering a RE XXX15" Sub with a 1200D Sundown Audio Amp, but I don't know if I can get a better sounding setup with what I want to spend? I can get the sub and amp for $520 shipped.. but I can spend up to $650 on sub and amp combo.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

$520 for a brand new RE XXX 15" and new Sundown SAE-1200Dv2?
No it's a 2005 XXX15 and I'm not sure if it is a v2 amp.. I can find out, but he said its the SAE-1200D.

Also, I have JL Component speakers and a P780MP Headunit currently so I don't feel the need to upgrade those until I find a sub. I will have some money left over to get a headunit and hopefully it will be a double din AVIC or a double din Alpine.

I've just never heard RE subs, and I'm not sure if this particular one will be a good SQ setup for me or not.

my only concern is with the amp.

it is rated @ 1200W but I am told it can put out 1400-1500.

The sub is rated @ 1600RMS and I have never heard of the amp until I joined this forum.

What? Thats just crazy talk. Everyone know that putting a sub in a sealed box means automatic Audiophile
I'm not going for a permanent install until I get a new car. I just want something that can be moved out of the car easily and then installed in a fiberglassed enclosure in the new car. I guess what I meant is SQ+SQL

No. What you mean is that you want a nice smooth sub that can get loud. Not a SQ system. There is more to a SQ system then a RE XXX and 1000wrms. I am into SQ and the XXX is no where on my list of Great SQ subs. In a SQ system the sub is about the last thing you would ever worry about.
