well, a 250amp alt would ensure that you have enough for future expansion if you decided to. A 250 would easily supply a 1200rms amp.

I'm needing some advice too. I have a Orion 15.2 wired to a Orion D2400 @ 1 ohm - well the amp stopped the other day - has power but no sound (speaker is working when tested, so its not blown). I checked the amp & all looks good (no burnt areas, etc) - So, I figure wtf? anyone have a clue what this sounds like? amp fried ?... well I wanted to get an amp with more power anyway. Ok, so I have this dude trying to sell me a Hifonics bxi 2607d $325 w/2 yr warranty - now I do not know much of Hifonics (do remember back in the day some people ran it, sounded good). Also I have a guy trying to sell me two Orion D2400s (used, claims they are in great shape) for $400 - I could link them & have over 2000 watts. I am looking for an amp deal for around $300 - any input is appreciated....

Also, I have a 2.5 farrad cap, factory alt. & upgraded battery (just 1) - at idle lights do dim... any thoughts on upgrading alt. etc. would be appreciated too.

The guy is telling what to get and your completely ignoring him. The dcs is better than the hifonics and a fraction of the cost of the other one. the dcs is a very good amp and is only $200
