Not sure about amp wattage?

i have two 12 inch pioneer premier subwoofers. they have 1400 watts max each, and have 350 rms each. im not sure how big of an amp to get. some people told me to get more watts in the amp than the subs, some said less. is it supposed to be equal to the rms, or max? can i get a 3000 watt amp with two channels? or should i get one with 2600, or even less, or just get two amps? i am completely confused. help please?

You want around an 800x1 amp for those subs. You need to know how many voice coils and what impedance they are to narrow it down. Check the model # then look them up on pioneers web site.

The RMS is what the subs can take all day with no problems (cept for some subs lol ) I would go by what Phypho said and get an 800rms rated amp so u can have something to work with
