NOT Light Dimming, But Excess Voltage?

Well I have made a few threads of how to cure my light dimming problem, BUT tonight as I have drove down the road, I noticed that my lights, when the bass hits, just for an instance, that my lights DO NOT dim, but they get brighter. So while everyone's lights dim when the bass hits, my lights get brighter?

What could this be?

Will upgrading to a YT and Big 3 (which I am probably going to do anyways) help me with this?

How do I fix this problem.

Again, my lights aren't dimming, they flash brighter when the bass drops. This includes headlights, instrument cluster (speedo, tach, gas gauge) and interior lights.

i have the EXACT same problem...ive been posting the last couple of days to try and figuere it out....im getting voltage spikes > 15.5

maybe its the other way around, they are always dimmed but for that little instance it gets the power it needs and flashes what it normally should look like.

Stock Alt (130amp), stock battery no Big 3 (yet)

But, my battery is at like >12v. It's weird, I am going to get a YT and do the Big 3 and see if it changes.

It is definetly getting brighter, its not dimming.

Anyone else with some more insight?

thats funny cause with my car on my battery idles in the mid 14's

This happened to me. Your voltage regulator is probably going out... That's what happened to me. It got to the point that when the rpms went up everything got way brighter and got up to like 21v at times... Popped my brights as well.

I def don't have that problem, with the RPM's at least. It's only when the bass hits...its tooo weird.

only time i noticed is when i was doing like 80 on the highway so it would be with high RPM's....im too worried to try it again i dont wanna fry my alt or anything

its gotta be the voltage regulator ...the battery filters out the high spikes usually

how much would one of those regulators cost?

Depends on the make and year of your car... Some cars have external voltage regulators and others have internal regulators(inside the alternator) that are more expensive since the entire alt. needs to be replaced.

Head to AutoZone, as they have a free batt, Alt., & regulator check...
