You just answered your own question. If you want little output, build a little sealed box which is apparently what you've done. Give them the correct amount of airspace ported and you will likely be satisfied...ported boxes (if designed and constructed properly) are more efficient.

can i go any smaller then 4 cubes, and still get good output? i cant fit 4 cubes unless i try and do what darkfox did with his stang. i dont want to cut up my car tho, and there would be no room for the amps.

you can go smaller, but that usually yields a punchy/peaky response.

with the measurements u have...i came up with a design that 3.7cubes tuned to 33hz with 50 square inch port 27 inches long(L-shaped)
