Recently, i have just my problem in having my H/U on "LOUD". Restarting both my amps i set my gains down and started to the gain setting process. Setting my 4 - channel to 13.5v (recommended = 14.1v) and then setting my Mono amp to 26.5 (recommended = 28.4v). After all that done, i test em with the test tones that i downloaded from Jmacs recommended links. Using the 1KHZ test tone for the 4 channel and then 50hz on the MONO (btw... All speaker cables are disconnected from the amp, so i wont hear nothing out of the speakers during the process). Now for the test, i pop in a CD, and interesting enough, i am not getting that "bass feel". What have i done wrong here? So instead so i boosted the Bass from 0 to +5 (max=6). There the bass has me feeling good, but i thought its best to stay away from adjusting those H/U Settings?

Thanks.

This is really odd. I did the same thing today, setting my gains with a DMM, and for some reason, I had it set almost exact to begin with. Seeing as I set them by ear at low volume, I'm still scratching my head over that one.

How loud have you turned it up to since setting the gains right?

It seems like im really missing something here though. Because right before when i was using the LOUD function. My sub was hitting hard and sounded beautiful but then the quality on my 6x8 pioneers were horrible and people suggested not to use that LOUD function. So then i re-did everything and now everything is the other way around where the speakers sound beautiful and the subs is not hittingggggg

Yes the subs sounded perfect for me. Everything was rattling. But it was just that the lyrics were quite hard to hear. So people suggested to not use the loud function and i re-did my gains. But now the sound of the lyrics on my 6x8 sounds nice but then the subs are not hitting.

btw, the loud is one of the features from my head unit.

anyone know what i am missing here?
yes.........more power, more subs:D it seems like you were hitting good by over powering your sub. Its in a trunk right? The trunk will muffle distortion. If thats not it then just spend a couple grand and it will be ok...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
