not enuf or too much watts to speakers -

If you under power it thats fine, at the same time you can overpower it some and its fine also.

When underpowering just make sure to set your amp gains correctly. This is so you dont end up sending a clipped signal to the speakers trying to compensate for the reduced power your sending it.

 
hmm...when I went from 65 watts to 160 watts to my components, not that big of a difference. however, measuring voltage at the speaker terminals, I get no where near 25volts (for an impendance of 4ohm)

 
I dont go by power.....I believe power doesn't destroy speakers, distortion does

My components rated at 110 rms, play great at 85-90 rms, and also take 330 rms like a champ- just need to set your gains correctly and have an amplifier withy good speaker control
