Not enough voltage in Pre-outs??

i had my orion 2500d installed by a shop about a week n a half ago n after they installed it they said i either needed a HU with higher voltage pre-outs or an EQ to get the full power?......does this sound like its right?.....i dont have a dmm to measure the voltage im getting at the amp so i dont know for sure.....n i think my deck is only 2 volt pre-outs if you're wondering

No they are 100% wrong.

Setting the gain...

Having a lower pre out voltage will require you to raise the gain higher as opposed to say a 8v preout. But the 2500d can reach full output from a true 2v preout...

just adjust the input sensitivity carefully.

an EQ with 9v max will not be as bad as a line driver with 10-12v rms out.
