it ultimately falls on the shoulders of QA and QC as well as how thorough the engineers were when they sent over their drawings/files.well of course there are hence the 90% in my post...
my RF amp was made in the usa, but just cause its made in china doesn't mean its a piece of junk. its a piece of junk if the manufacture doesn't give a shit and says "make it as cheap as possible". the chinese don't make shitty products on their own, they make shitty products cause we ask them to.
From experience I've seen awesome factories put out shoddy products and when i looked into it in depth i usually found that they really had limited information on what was expected of the final product... aka sub-par drawings with not enough dimensional information, sub-par assembly drawings and instructions or none at all!
yes of course. part prices for stateside manufacturing is too prohibitive. Upside is that the communication will be somewhat better and you'll be able to visit the factories over the weekend but I still encounter problems with manufacturer's in the US.haha! yeah, but the parts to assemble it are 90% made in China //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Like I said, it falls on the shoulders of the Engineers to make sure the drawings have all the information, it falls on the shoulders of the QA managers to make sure all parts that arrive are to spec and in usable condition... and lastly on the shoulders of QC managers to make sure all finished products are inspected tested and in working order.
In China, sometimes Lead Engineer is also draftsman, and QA manager and QC inspector at the same time... and if your factory sublets to another factory then youre screwed cause you dont even know who is making your parts!
