Ok heres what Im running

HiFonics Brutus Bx1500D

4 gauge B+/Grounds

Twisted RCAs

12 gauge speaker wire

2 Solobarics 12" L7s

12 gauge wiring

In series @ 1 ohm

6 Cubes Ported @ 35 Hz

3/4 MDF

JVC Sh-707

2 volt preout =(

No Deadner =(

Okey like the title says its just not getting as loud as I expected .. From what I hear in the forums the L7s are suppose to get ungodly loud but it ain't cuttin it for me. It's loud but not to the extent where it pounds the hell out of my chest. Im guessing the problem is the amp settings, 2 volt preouts, alternator/battery not at 14.4 volts. Im not putting my HU up to 3/4 level cause thats just to loud and hurts my ears [speaker wise not subwoofer wise]. It starts to get loud and then it starts to get distortion.

well its not gonnqa cave your chest in. Maybe you just expected to much from it. Do you have someone wh oyou can compare your system to and see if it really isnt getting loud. Play with the settings on the HU and the amp.

it says you have them run in series if that is so they could be dual 4 ohm and you have a 4 ohm load which is only 500 watts rms total. if they are dual 4 ohm run them in parallel and you will get a 1 ohm load which would be 1500 watts

well I have alot of friends with subwoofers and one of them has two 12" comps [non VR] with a punch 700s and that shit pounds hella hard [hurts my chest] and my drivers are way more superior to his.

I have it wired like the diagram above.... I know it can hit way harder cause it isn't even even reach Xmax.. only reason is b/c when I can't get it up that loud without getting massive distortion.

That link ain't working.

How many ohms are you subs.(DVC)

If they are 2ohm DVC, then the final load could be 4ohms or 2ohms.

If they are 4ohm DVC, then the final load could be 4ohms or 1ohms. In this case, for a final load of 1ohm, you need to wire the subs VC's in a series-parallel configeration.

looks like this:(again, the link you gave above wouldn't work for me. I'm just trying to help.)

the link worked for me. if you wired them like the first diagram then you should be getting the full 1500 watts to them subs but if it's like the second then there would only be 500 watts rms.

DBfan, that's a parallel config, not a series/parallel config. I think Goten just made the mistake of saying he wired it in series, when he actually wired it in parallel. Unless, Goten, you did wire it in series. If you have 1500 watts going to those drivers, you'll know there's 1500 watts, lol.

Let me guess. Your gain is at Min??? Turn the GAIN UP. That hifonics 1500 input sensitivity goes from 9v-200mv. Best thing would be to make the gain to about 4-5v and see how you like it there. If you need more output, put it up to around 2v. I'm sure it'll be pounding like hell.

Does nobody realize that the Rockford diagram for parallel wiring is wrong, also I believe JL uses same. Rockford shows the both red on one side and both black on another. Its supposed to be RED to RED and BLack at top, then RED to (diaganol) RED at bottom BLACK to (diaganol) BLACK at bottom.

When I first worked with DVC subs I followed the RF diagram too and couldn't figure why the subs were so low, till I rearranged the wiring. I seriously can't believe people don't realize that very large diagram mistake.

Huh?? Not quite getting you. If you are wiring in parallel, all you have to do is hook up all the positives together and all the negatives together. I don't see whats wrong with the diagram.

There's nothing wrong with the diagram.. I can't respond to anything else he said, because all I understood was "Does nobody realize that the Rockford diagram for parallel wiring is wrong".
