WTF is wrong now? I was driving around 2day doing some freakin shopping and i noticed my d@mn front-right comp started cutting out! WTF!?!? Theres no possible way that i have gotten 3, yes 3, bad RCAs. Thats friggin impossible! Its gotta be something else. Some1 please tell me how to check my HU pre-outs and amp RCA-ins for problems. Have you ever bothered to check your speaker wire?? Other than that I'd say it's the pre-out's on your deck man.

well, b4 when this happened, i switched around the rca's to see if it would make the other comps cut out. and it did, so its not the speaker wire. its something between the HU and RCA ins on amp.

No, not your head unit but your installation yes. RCA's are cables just like any other. Only difference is they are dedicated to a type certain signal.

If you want to check the pre-outs, get a voltmeter and check em. What are you thinking is wrong with it though? Just a bad pre-out that is operational sometimes???

thats what i would think, BUT last time this happened, i switched the rcas in the back of the HU too and it still did it on other speakers. which only points to bad RCA's. am i right here?

well, i should probably check everything anyways. how do i check the rca ins on amp and preouts on hu with a DMM?

Wiggle the RCA inputs on the amp and see if it cuts out.

A bump to the RCA inputs can lift them from the circuit board and cause an intermittent connection, check the outputs on the back of the HU as well.

If an RCA input has come loose from the circuit board you will need to resolder it.

last 2 times, if i wiggled the rca wires at the amp, it would cut out. this time, i cant seem to get it to cut out by doing that. i tried wiggling them, then they began to function properly. and as much as i wiggled them, i couldnt get them to cut out again. but this morning when i went for a drive, the speaker cut out again. im so confused about this.

I think somthing on the amps circuit board has come loose.

sound like the input rca's are bad on ur amp. take the rca's that are runnin ur front and plug then into ur kicker 1200.1 and see if makes the subs cut out.THen if that is not the problem take the rca out and hook them up to someing else like ur home stereo. And see if they cut out in ur home setup.

the process of elimantion really helps here.

I like FatRyan too, I have always been fascinated with Tourettes.

The natural course of TS varies from patient to patient. Although TS symptoms range from very mild to quite severe, the majority of cases fall in the mild category.
