my name is austin, im 18yo and have a 2007 scion tc. i know th basics of car audio but want to learn more. my buddy chris has a little company here in orlando, fl that does my work and i help and learn each time. current setup includes,

-pioneer avhp4000dvd

-all aftermarket pioneer speakers and tweeters( forgot model #)

- custom pioneer tweeter pods\

- pioneer 6" center channel custom pod

- new sub enclosure in progress, will be done this week, 4 10' JL W1v2 8ohm subs, kenwood 9104d mono amp.

nope. not yet anyways. i personally like a more clean sound and from the ported enclosures i have heard its just loud bass.. not much SQ

it was ok. my first setup so i wanted to stay conservitave but it was still pretty loud and nice to have trunk space.

it sounded good but i sold it like 3 weeks later, the hatch was to heavy and it was sagging from the vibration.

How do you like those kenwoods? I bought some brand new on sale for 35. each and they seem really good for the price!

If u build a ported box to the correct specs/tuning it can have sum outstanding SQ. Also u ever look into building sum bandpass enclosures?? Can be built so u have very little roll off in a wider HZ range, as long as its built correctly and u know how to design them the right way.(or have someone else who's experienced w/ BPs design one)

Because everyone tunes really high for t3h DBZ.

A ported enclosure can make the sub a lot more efficient (if designed correctly.) I mean, sealed is easier... but when you tune low, it sounds amazing.

They do better sealed than ported in my experience. I had a pair of 10's in my girl's car ported, and they werent anything special.
