Noob Question, take it easy on me

I came across a JL amp, JX500/1 Monoblock Class D for a good price.

It's been powering some subs very nicely however I would like to upgrade and go bigger. My question is could this amp be used to power the front and rear door speakers?

Vehicle is a 2008 Pathfinder, the front doors are 6x9 and rear doors are 6.5.

no it cant ,the jl amp is for subs only . you need a 2 or 4 channel for the speakers

just get a amp to run the speakers first ,then sell the jl to help fund a bigger amp for the subs

Well I got another question... Since I know it can power multiple subs is there any way it could just power the front 6x9's or is that out as well.

I'm guessing it's NO for a couple reasons...

you could ,but it wont sound very good ,wont have any stereo separation and no high pass filter ,so you'll only get mid and low frequencies ,thats the issue

The amp only has a freq respone from 10 to 250 hz. You wouldn't be able to play the high frequencies.

If it is in good shape you could prolly find someone on here to trade it for a 4 channel amp you can run your mids/highs on.

Yeah that's a thought. I'm getting to know the forum for the past few weeks and also trying to decide on what route to go, so many choices in car audio it's scary...

yeah there are a ton of choices something to fit every budget,need or desire.
