noob question - subwoofer crossover slope

yes i understand the concept of a crossover slope

i was just curious what would be the best slope for a subwoofer 12-18-24

cause my HU doesn't have any highpass/lowpass settings and since the only slope my amp has is 12db and never really was able to test - i was just wondering if it would be worth it to invest in a crossover with either 18-24?

Higher order crossovers such as 18 or 24 could help keep the bass up front illusion if you have a quiet sub install.
