Noob putting together system

I'm putting in 2 12" Type R's with a Hifonics 1600 watt mono amp with a Jensen VM9510 video deck (4 x 18w). Which speakers should I install? For ease of install I want coaxials that don't need to be amped. I have an 06 F150 with 6x8 door speakers. Thanks for your help.

Ok you are putting 2 12" subs and powering them up pretty good and you want to run front speaker off a Jensen deck??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif If that is what you are gonna do then you might as well just leave the factory ones in there. All you are gonna hear is bass from your subs. I would you suggest that you get another amp to run your front stage. You can do coaxials if you like or componets would be better. What is your budget for this project that might help with getting more responses. Just some food for thought.

this thread is like revenge of the noobs
get 6.5's instead of 6x8s
Yes, that would be ideal...

But we don't know if the OP is up to fashioning adapters out of MDF, which would be ideal and well worth it since the generic plastic adapters absolutely ****.

Then if another amp for the speakers is necessary then i will get one. I will have a remote bass control for the amp, so bass will not be blasting all the time. My budget is around 250 for speakers and amp.

2 sets of THESE. Just fab ub some adapter baffles out of MDF. Then buy my Memphis ST2004 in the classifieds HERE. I'll give you the amp for $100 plus shipping. It's used, but it's better than almost any other amps you'll find in that price range. Memphis makes some of the most reliable, clean amps on the market. Let me know.

Do you even have a double-din opening in your car? Building a system isn't as easy as just buying random stuff and putting it together. Personally, I don't think a DVD player is necessary. You won't end up watching it much, and you can get much better sound quality out of a decent head unit. You'll be listening to music more than you'd ever watch movies. Plus, the extra $$$ you'd save would let you upgrade the rest of the system.

I do have a double din opening, its for an 2006 F150 regular cab. And I've actually considered the fact that I won't watch many movies or TV, but any other head unit seems bland now compared having a screen. If I find a badass one then maybe I'll get that. Sound quality is something I'm concerned about. But honestly my stock radio seems fine, I'm just buying the head unit for the ability to hook up the subs, so SQ probably doesn't mean too much to me.
