So, as it stands today, I'm an old SOB. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I've got a 2002 Chevy Silverado Crewcab HD that I have recently upgraded the head unit to a Kenwood KDC-BT952HD and I put 4 Polk Audio Dxi650's in the doors.

I am still needing some bass, but I don't need it to blow my doors out or impregnate the neighbors cat.

I'm looking at a box from caraudiofactory.com (unless that's a REALLY bad idea, please let me know...) that will hold a single 10 or 12.

Specs:

Fits 2001- 2007 Chevy Crew Cab HD (Heavy Duty)

1-12''or 1-10'' or1-8'' Speaker

Fits under the back seat the passenger side.

Down Firing System

Air Volume .78 Cubic Feet

Mounting Depth 6.5''

Material 5/8'' M.D.F

Speaker terminal is included

Magnet diameter not more than 5''

1.5'' clearance under the box

Life time Warranty.

It seems the best from my really old school opinion. My thoughts are that one 10" or 12", sealed in .78CF would sound better than two 10's w/ .55CF (my other box choice was from subthump.com and offers the ability to run 2 10's)

I'm looking at all these numbers and volumes and I'm getting numb.

I just want it to sound clear and fill the lows.

I don't really want to spend more than $400 (Amp for the 6.5's in the doors, amp for sub, box for sub and sub)... I can stretch that but not a whole lot. The box for the single sub is $89.

If it helps, I mostly listen to classic rock, some alt rock, and a VERY small amount of rap.

Thanks for any help and sorry for the book //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

That's a small budget. And you can find equipment in that range. But it will be used or maybe not so good stuff. Look at American bass subs mounting depth may be an issue for a good sub tho

Maybe I was a little too aggressive with the price... I could probably swing $600 for the amp(s) and sub. I'll buy the box separately so I won't include that in my budget.

if your not trying to get crazy loud dont spend your money on high end subs i think some people on hear forget that not everybody is trying to compete this "Dual SBP8A" might fit under your seat already comes in a box check out amazon.com there not gonna make your car flex but if your just lookin for a little bass something like this would be better

your right i dont see what else you could do with that tight of a space.. iv seen these maybe if you search you can find one the would fit? idk
Amazon.com: Atrend A152-12Cp B Box Series 12-Inch Dual Down-Fire Subwoofer Boxes: Electronics

Yeah, I have found a couple of boxes that will work but I need to decide which will work best for my needs.

There is one box that has .77CF for 1 or 2 10's and another that has .55CF for 2 10's or 2 8's. Both are sealed boxes.

I'm thinking that one 10 will suit my needs but only if I can find a 10 that will work in the confines of these small space.

to be straight with you 1 10" aint gonna do **** i would go with the 2 10s if you can fit them.. if your gonna buy a pre fab box try an match the sub an the box specs as close as you can
