i bought an amp kit a while back, and when i installed it everything went fine, though my Power wire could be a little longer..

i was wondering how could i make it longer without changing out the whole wire, can i just add a foot onto it, and if so, how would i go about doing that? electrical tape? any connectors? and would ithave to be the same brand wire?

thanks!

Would probably be better, for large-gauge power wires, to get a connector that splices two pieces together. Looks like the rear end of a set-screw ring terminal, except that there are two openings for the wires. Once you've done that, wrap the entire thing in heatshrink to prevent it shorting out on something.

eah if ya want to make shure you get a good connection get some steel wire and take the two wires tangel them to gather, twist tight, rap a few bands of steel wire and then sodder and tape.

those seem like an easy way.... but im running 2 gauge wire and those only come in 1/0 and 4 gauge... any suggestions?
thanks a lot guy for all your help, appreciate it.
last time i checked 2g wire still fit in a 1/0 opening //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

id still suggest a fuse holder or d-block over that though... something could go srong with just a shrink wrap covering, and if something did go wrong things could go bad. thats just my input on that. imsure that it would mostlikely be fine, but i personally like to eliminate as much doubt as possible. seeing flames shoot out of your trunk really messes with your head...

edit-- req = faster than me

i figure i would put the power wire under my intake, but right now its too short to do so..
