Noob cut out the internal harness...

also i will laugh at how frustrated he gets when trying to find the speakers, if there is a factory amp
not sure if theres a factory amp or not,i chatted with the guy over the phone,he dont know sh-t,all he do know is that he cut out the internal harness. If the factory amp is too much trouble,i'll bypass it and run new wires.

for an 01. but see if its similar

The second wiring diagram (posted by KDC) is for aftermarket HU's and not the one for the car. That is you will need to patch the factory wire to the wire listed on KDC if you want to direct wire the aftermarket harness to the cut wires in the car

the colors on my s-10 matched spot on to the factory. that one i posted may not. i've done 2 fords and they both matched up as well. sure hate to blow anything though by not testing the power wires before hooking it up.

That harness is for plugging direct into the factory harness. his factory harness does not exist. So he needs the diagram for the factory wire to go to the aftermarket HU. The list you provided is the list of wires coming out of a aftermarket HU that he will need to connect to the factory wires using the first diagram and some crimp caps or butts.

This man knows what he is talking about...The Wires coming out of the dash are all kinds of colors.

the list i put up is a possible guide to what the factory wire colors do. he'll have to match the head units colors on his own. he should still test the 2 12 volt wires before going by any guide posted.

The wires you posted arent going to be there...think of it like this. Uninstall a factory HU, and then cut the harness that connected the Car to the Factory HU. Ive been installing for a while now, and I ahve worked on a ton of cars, and never have I seen the colors that an aftermarket harness has, match up to the wire colors in a factory harness. He is going to have wires that are light blue, brown with a red stripe, green with a white stripe, pink...wild combos. It wont be

red-ACC

yellow-mem

black-ground

blue-amp

green-spk

green/black-spk

purple-spk

white-spk

white/black-spk

grey-spk

mine matched. you're probably right. i'd trust you. a test light is easier than a guide anyway for the power wires. at least for piece of mind

I am not saying your info is wrong, but its not right for his application. He will need that info once he has the right wires labeled inside his dash so that he can connect the aftermarket unit up.

GM uses colors like yellow/brown and blue/green for speaker wire colors and Ford is totally different. At one time I had those memorized. Anyway, the list you posted is the industry standard used for the aftermarket HU manufactures. Those colors will be true for any aftermarket harness/adapter but what is run through the car could be any number of colors.

A voltmeter/test light is the best option to verify everything but a schematic doesn't hurt either
