NOOB amplifier question. JBL's.

Perhaps utilizes a power supply that adjusts the output rail voltage to maintain power at varying impedances, or has a current limiting function to reduce output below certain impedances.

 
from what i understand of the jbl crowns is that they are in fact a 2 channel amp is wired in a certain way that yes they can put out more power at 4 ohm....they pretty much put out the same power at all ohm loads.

Ok? I wish I knew more about wiring amps to subs and the different options.

 
JBL uses some patented technology to allow a parallel connection of amplifiers. similarly to how you can run multiple generators on the same electrical bus, but with amplifiers. Most amps can't do this properly and will kill each other... My guess is there is some limitation to the parallel connection that prevents it from performing as would be predicted. There is no difference from a theoretical standpoint between a series connected amplifier and a 4ohm load, or a parallel connected amplifier and a 1ohm load.
