NON rap songs with good LOW bass

Squarepusher has tons and tons of low bass. Many of his songs have a fretless bass too which is a nice change from the typical sub frequencies you usually hear.

Try out the albums

Squarepusher - Hard Normal Daddy

Squarepusher - Hello Everything

if you like electronic, jazz, or experimental music.

If you can track down "Where do I Begin? (Away Team Remix) by Shirley Bassey. Not much until about 2:40 into the song where there is this gliss/sliding descending electronic bass sweep that goes lower than anything I've auditioned it on.

Download the Pirates of the Caribbean II soundtrack. It has some awesome bass and is a very well done movie score. If you like classical music with nice bass, you will like that CD.
I had been listening to the original film's soundtrack for some time prior to getting the second. I definitley prefer the first. Track 9 has part early on with a huge deep bass rumble. Tracks 3, 13, and 14 have some parts that are really moving. There are some parts where the whole orchestra's music sounds like a heavy-metal rhythm guitar part! Typical of classical music, both CDs are very dynamic. My favorite parts are where my sub shakes the hell out of my truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

New ambient techno album by Radium88 has some pretty ridiculous subbass in it and it is up very high in the mix so you can get a ton of volume. It is a ****ing outstanding album as well, top 3 electronic releases so far this year in my opinion.

Here are some frequency readings:

"Sleepwalk" has the most impressive sounding bass, with some incredible peaks: 43hz, 55hz, 58hz, all at -9db. The bass walks up and down all over the 50hz range and is very loud and clean. I highly recommend this song!!!

"Nocturne" has some crazzzzy lows with 21hz and 12hz peaks around -12db.

"Rising Tide" has a constant beat at 65hz @ -13db with peaks at 44hz @ -11db

"Your Message Has Been Erased" peaks at 51hz @ -11db, 38hz, 48hz

Those are just some examples.

Powerman 5000 - Mega!! Kung Fu Radio

NIN

Deftones has some decent bass

Soulfly

Metallica - And Justice for All...

Yeah I'm looking for more Heavy metal with great Bass.

X2 on Metallica's ...and justice for all, also, Be like that by 3 doors down has some insane low bass hits throughout the song. when I play it in my house stuff falls off the walls on 100w per channel! cerwin vega ftw!!
