non kicker square woofers

this could be a repost but im not sure... havent found a thread on it. anyway i was approached by a friend today that asked me about square woofers that arent kicker. my first response was to say nothing much due to the brand names that put them out, but i just saw a video of two pyle red label 12's and they didnt look too bad. i guess anything will sound good in a good box, but i was wondering if anyone had hands on experience with them so i know what to tell my friend.

that atlas looks good

yeah i know thats what my first response was too but that video baffles me. im thinking they arent anything special it was just that box was made perfect for them thats what made them look good.

I've seen the Hifonics 15" at century 2000 in akron.

The thing's a beast, the magnet structure's the weirdest thing i've ever seen, it looks like a bunch of huge d-cell batteries or something???

They sound decent, but it's hard to tell inside a store.

Well, a square cone sub is harder to get "right". Kicker has proven they can pull it off with pretty decent results, I would hesitate to get any other brand's square subs without hearing them first,
