noisey trunk

My trunk and bumper are vibrating like a b*tch. Anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem.

If it helps I've got a Corolla and I 've got 3- 10" mtx 6000's and 500w amp.

your bumper shouldnt rattle...are you talking about your licence plate....my only answer is sound dedaning material or expanding foam on the inside of your bumper...behind it..

its seems like my bumper. mostly its my trunk lid. what do you tjink about foam throughout the whole trunk?

if you do it right it will work....but if you get too much foam and it expands wrong it will bend your truck lid...and that looks like shit...

just shoot it up in your trunk and dont over do it...it tells you how much it will expand....the stuff i used expanded 3x larger..it is cool shit...

Just watch what you buy and get the "minimal expansion" stuff. If it's your liscense plate you can put some rubber washers or even o-rings between it and your car

i was having the same prob with my 95 camry! foam the top and front of the trunk lid then sound deadin the he!! out of the entire trunk and lid. if you still have a prob, put a lil SD (sound dead..) behind the lic. plate, tighten down the latch holding your trunk shut and that should take care of it! like the other guys said watch how much foam you put in, minimal expandign is the way to go, plus it stays softer and IMHO works better. i would not reccomend foaming any thing that wound need to be pounded out if you got into an accident!! body shops will be real pissed!!

I think I have posted this about 100 times on this board....

1) Seal all seams w/ seam sealer. (where body panels come together and between the sheet metal and frame of trunk lids.) 2) Apply your sound deadening material. 3) Apply that egg carton like foam (wal-mart: $7 for about 32sq.ft) Use 3M all purpose spray adhesive. You can also stuff it between your 1/4 panels and anywhere else. It works great and if you need to remove it for anything you can w/ minimal troubles.

thanks. I ve got the walmart foam but no sound deadening, so I think I'm gonna do that.
