Just getting into car audio and am hearing rumors of police being able to confiscate your system if in violation. I live in southern california any ideas on rules of playing your system? Thanks in advance

They can give you a ticket. I dunno about taking your shit. Just turn it down when the cops go by and don't blast it in town late at night and you should be okay.

Lol they cant take your shit its your property and its not illegal to have. the only reason they impound cars who race is becasue it endangers their lives and other peoples and most of the time the mods they have done to their engines or their engines themselves are illegal.. SO unless your pounding like 200 db and it can kill people they cant do anything about it.. just slap you with a ticket and put you in the hassle of going to *** *** court for hours..

You can beat a "disturbing the peace" violation as you did not cause a riot. What you need to do, is browse California's state statutes. Then browse your city council's ordinances. If it doesn't show up in either of those, you're good. Also calling the local police department will get you an answer. Make sure you don't dial 911 though because you WILL be fined for misuse of 911.

In Dickson, a kid got his whole system ripped out after his second noise violation. Not only that, but he also has to get his vehicle inspected every month to make sure he didn't put another one in.
