I have a Kenwood Excelon KAC-X812D mono amp from several years ago. For the past 6 years, it was in an Isuzu Rodeo and I had quite a bit of static, especially when the ignition was off or the car was just started. I figured I must be getting some electromagnetic interference in the lines.

I just swapped it over to my new 2013 WRX. I used new Rockford Fosgate wiring all around and ran the power cable and patch cable in different locations. But, I am still getting the same static noise. I can turn the low pass filter down to 80 Hz, and that helps some, but its still there.

Do you guys think this is a wiring issue or should I swap the amp? It is pretty annoying if you are listening at low volume with the ignition off.
