Noise comming through speakers when volume down?

The line out converter I got is a "PAC"

does that mean I should just buy another one? hook it up and see how it sounds?

I just did the same install on my 07 tacoma, with a scosche line out converter, I get I loud humming coming from the speakers. I stand away from the truck and can also hear the fuel pump running, so I pull the fuel pump relay and still have noise. I then pull the EFI fuse and low and behold the noise goes away. So somehow its related. But i have no clue how to get rid of the noise. I sanded down to bare metal on the floor of the truck for my grounds.

Setup

Alpine mrvf340 running Rainbow slc 265's,

and old Cadence 125X2 amp with and external crosover running a ED 9k.2

If anyone has any ideas, im willing to try anything.

thnx

I just pulled out the HU again and messed with the wiring behind. I think the EFI wire goes through that bundle right in the back, so I pushed the LOC down as far as i could. It definitly helped but did not completly rectify the problem. When the truck is running the noise is hardly audible. Perhaps when i get a aftermarket hu that will fix the whole problem.

this may crack some of you up, but I pulled the back plate of the center console off and ran the wires to a fuse block in there. I mounted the block inside along with the LOC, then put the plate back on. I have been working overtime shifts, so i wont be able to mess with it until friday.

I am looking in to the cleansweap or a cheaper line driver. Anyone know if there are some cheaper, good quality line drivers that would fix this. Just seems like two hundred bucks is a little spendy.
