nobody likes rockford fosgate??

My buddy owns the largest RF dealer in the Midwest so he always shows me the cool new things that puts RF ahead of the competition. One example would be the new hybrid line that RF is releasing soon. The Hybrid BD1500.1 only draws 50amps or so at full tilt due to how it is built and the amount of caps used. Its the same technology used on the T15kws and they plan to release an entire line up like that. Simple fact is you will not find any other company that will provide you with amps that will put out a true 1500wmrs+ at 1ohm and draw only 50amps. Its just not a technology anyone else has, yet.

As far as there components they are very affordable and get very loud compared to many brands. They are not the cleanest on the market but they put up good competition. As for subs, well that tends to be RFs weak side at the moment but hey thats why they have R&D and things will only get better but the P3s are great affordable subs that get real loud if you know what your doing.

What i always said was, "It takes power to make power" It takes alot more gas to make a fast car fast, vrs a lil toyota pirrus, and i would rather have fast car, and that hybrid 1500 will cost as much as a SAZ3000d costs, and for what 1500wrms at 50amps, nobody cares about that shit, the amount of money it costs you can have 3times the amp!

Theres no telling how much it will cost, plus it will save $ for people who dont want to upgrade wiring, alternator, battery etc..

the retail price on the T-15001bd is $899 now, so with that being said that new hybrid inbred thing will be over $1000 retail, that would be the biggest waste of money is spending even over $500 for a 1500wrms amp,let alone $1000, even if it draws 5amps, ill pull up with over 5kw and blow the caps out the amps ***, thats stupid!

Yeah but the people that are spending that much on amp could spend 1/2 the money on a amp by a battery and a $30 4 gauge amp kit!! And have a 1500wrms+ amp, and if you can afford to spend $600-700 or retail on a amp $800+ on a 1500wrms amp, then a $150 battery wont matter, and people that buy 1500wrms amps, are going for loud, not some older guy that just wants a lil bump in his bmw or something, i dont see that even being a good idea!

I got to about page 5 of this thread and I decided to stop reading because it seemed like the thread started to get a little off topic. All I wanted to say was that I wish that I was a little older so I could have known what "old school" Rockford Fosgate really was. The first system I had was two 12" Rockford Punch HE's and a Kicker ZR240. I know its not as old as the Rockford you guys are all talking about, but I would have those HE's any day of week over my old P2's. As "old school" as Rockford goes for me is only about 9 years ago. From 1999-2001 I remember in my town, if you had a Rockford Fosgate system in your car everyone thought you were the shit.

You poor misguided soul. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif RF is not coming out with a line of amplifiers that breaks the laws of physics. 50 amps @ 14.4 volts is just under 750 watts, and that would be at 100% efficiency. RF is coming out with a line of amplifiers that will be 200% efficient? Come on dude, you know better than that.
So far as I remember, the 'amazing technology' in the T15kw is a large bank of capacitors. The T15kw can only sustain is amazing output until its bank of caps is drained, then its output drops drastically (to like 3kw) until the caps are recharged and ready for another burp. Personally, sounds like shitty 'technology' for any daily driver system to me. *shrug*

The T15kw is much like MTX's Jackhammer, huge and meant for advertising, not practical at all. I would not use it as a measuring stick for the company's products.

The only good point you make is the price issue, thats why you shop around. Example Crutchfield and Al & Eds sell the RF T2 for 699.00 but with a little research I found it for like 330.00 thats less than half the price. And thats overpriced right, I was looking at the RE xxx12 2000w rms sub and DAM thats overpriced at like 1500.00.

The T15kw draws 300amps max. And how have you come to the knowledge that they only last for burps? That sounds like some BS to me. First off I have seen one in real life being used. Secondly who on this forum hasnt seen SMD use his? Ive seen vids of his running for 5-10min. Last I looked 5-10min was not a burp. Maybe im wrong maybe it was in my immagination that those amps played entire songs while flexing his windows the whole time. Im just going by what a RF dealer told me.

This is the second time Ive seen you quote that sub, and that price, as a measuring stick for 'expensive'. Unfortunately for you, most of us here already know a xxx12 does not go for $1500.

Seriously?????

Who the fuk pays retail. DD Z1a amps retail at $2500 but i see them on here BNIB go for $1200. Same follows with any and all amps (with a few exceptions). RF T40001bds retail is 2799.99 but you can walk in to any store and get it for $1200-$1400 and quite a bit cheaper online.

Well MemphisFlex is stating Retail prices on RF so why not compare with retail prices from another company? Makes perfect sense to me. Either way no one in there right mind would pay that much for either sub

Its not my fault you dont know.
"The question has been asked, "What about a sine wave, like for an SPL competitor?" The T15kW has plenty of energy to get through a three-second sine wave burst. However a five-minute "death match" competition is not the T15kW's forte. Who wants to torture their investment like that anyhow?" - http://www.caraudiomag.com/0606_cae_rockford_fosgate_t15kw_amplifier/index.html

RF is very careful to not give out any exact numbers, apparently. ow long would the bank of caps sustain full output? I dont know, but its apparently somewhere between 3 seconds and 5 minutes, according to CA&E.

RF's amazing new 'hybrid technology' is a bank of caps, a controller to switch between high and mow current operation, and a reliance on the fact that music is transient.
