I currently am running a 15" rockford fosgate t2 dual 2 ohm, in a ported enclosure tuned to 34 hrtz, taking 1350 RMS no problem, and slamming fairly good. It's a temp. setup as I picked up the subwoofer for only 244 bucks. :O

I guess if you pay retail for that mofo it's not worth it, but a friend of mien has the 15" p3's in a sealed enclosure, and they sound great. So I wouldn't dog on them, the shallow subs however ****, and the p1 and p2's aren't even worth sniffing. p3 t1 and t2 are fairly decent, if you get a good price.

I love my Rockford, have had many amps in between, but the Punch 150 was first about 10 years ago. Amps have always been pretty solid.

I am still running my 2 RF Punch 150's from 1989 (3rd gen...just before the HD models). Have been running them faithfully since 1990 without any others.

FWIW:

The older stuff was kick ***... new stuff is not as good, but still really like the company. When i got back in to car audio, i saw the new design of the amps and subs I thought "WTF"

Rockford always had aggressive/wild looking designs. Now the punch amps look like black bricks and the subs look like they belong in a euro sports car or something. WAY to refined.

I like RF ... I'd never buy their new stuff, but at least they're bringing some decent OEM setups to the market.

Lets all agree that every car audio brand has low grade products as well, that doesn't mean that the company sucks, It just means that they make low budget stuff for those low budget people. I personally am tired of upgrading thats why when ever I want something I always go with their top of the line product. For example I'm getting 2 sets of the x152s components, which are top of the line RF components.

You could design and build a 250 watt sub that performs quite well. Us old timers remember when that was a very common power rating for subs actually.

Not every sub has to be a 2500 watt SPL beast before its considered quality, right?

True story, about 6 months ago I sent in one of my T2's to get repaired and I needed a 12" sub to sub my sub.(get it) I found this one kicker cvr(I think it was like 300rms) for 30 bucks of CRAIGSLIST, to my surprise this sub hanged through all the shit I threw at it. I new my T2 was on its way so I didn't care but this sub got my respect and I did sell it for 50.

Yea, its hard to beat a $50 sub that sounds good and gets really loud. I loved my CVR's, I might have to take them out of retirement.
