i am using 2 channels out of 4 on a zx850.4 to run a sub of mine for now the box is ported tuned to 34hz and it has on ssf on the amp so do i use the freq setting on the amp to make sure it doenst play below tunning or what

it goes from 50hz-250hz so with it being at 50hz it shouldnt play below tunning anway right

yea sorry it has a bult in crossover so that doesnt do nothing to prevent it from playing below tunning

what exactly do i use the crossover for on subs, for mids i understand but for subs wat do i set it to or do i leave it turned down

Had to edit beat me to it lol,

Try setting that around 100hz and go from there, im not sure how your front stage is, but you may be able to set it at a lower hz.

Its used to keep your subs from playing mid and high freq that they were not designed to play.

i have polk momos upfront and set for 135rms per side and i have the freq set on the amp for 80hz

so setting it at 100hz it doenst play anything above 100hz right

will that make it less loud or whats the point

si if i set it at 50hz it wont play anything above that correct

so is there anyway with this amp to prevent from playing below 34hz what my box is tuned to

just like the amp i am waiting on the zx1500 the SSF is already set at 25hz so being my box is tuned to 34hz how do i prevent from playing too low

If your highpass on your polks is set at 80hz, then I would suggest setting your lowpass around the same. You dont want your subs playing above 100hz unless you have too, like your running mids that have to be crossovered that high.

Only way I can think is to get a external crossover with a ssf.

You cant, since it not adjustable, you either have to use that freq or get a external crossover like I mention above.

Fmod plug in RCA filters would be a good choice but im not sure they can be use for a SSF.

ok thanks but why doenst kicker have a adjustable SSF on their amps specially there mono channel amps thats just dumb
I agree, I think every mono amp esp the larger ones should have that. Alot of Kicker and Rockford fosgate amp owners complain about the same thing.

Or becareful and dont play any material below tuning.

However, I enjoy hammering my btl with 25hz tones below my 32hz tuning

yes its set and not adjustable correct

and another question does everyday music like rap/hip hop what not have freq's below 34hz or no i wont be playing any bass cd's or test tones on my subs anyway
